Spiced Turmeric Latte

My immune system seems to have taken a real dip this January, I find myself with not only a cold and feeling lethargic. I have four cold sores and my dermatitis is flaring up, I do have a weak immune system but this seems to be quite aggressive even for me. In order to take a stab at rebooting my immune system (without fasting for 3 days as Google suggests), I have decided to look at healthy alternatives. As well as using essential oils, I’m looking for ingredients that may also help. A spiced Tumeric Latte seems like a good place to start!

Tumeric is known for its many health benefits, especially inflammation. Ginger is brilliant at boosting the immune system and almond milk is packed full of magnesium. Not to mention it’s super warming, nourishing and full of comfort.

Ingredients:

A cup of unsweetened almond milk

1/2 tsp of ground turmeric

Shot of maple syrup

1 inch of fresh ginger

Pinch of ground sweet cinnamon

1 star anise

Method:

Place the milk, turmeric and syrup in to a pan and heat slowly. Grate in the ginger and stir until the milk slightly froths. When ready pour in to your favourite mug, sprinkle over the cinnamon and top off with the star anise. Get comfortable and enjoy!
